Ch (Maj) Michael Morison

Chaplain (Major) Michael L. Morison, CAP is Deputy Chaplain of the Pacific Region.  As the Deputy Chaplain of the Pacific Region, he serves as the Dean of the Pacific Region Chaplains College responsible for curricular design and delivery of an ongoing program to enhance the knowledge and skills of Chaplains and Character Development Instructors.  As Deputy Chaplain he assists the Region Chaplain in providing support for the Pacific Region’s Chaplains and Character Development Instructors.  In addition, he advises the Region Chaplain and others on spiritual ethical, and quality of life concerns.  Chaplain Morison is serving on the national level as a staff member of the Spiritual Care Committee (responsible for providing special programs as needed) and as an instructor for the national Chaplain Emergency Service School (ChESS) to train Mission Chaplains and Chaplain Support Specialists).  Chaplain Morison holds a Master rating as a Chaplain and has completed Level IV.

Currently, Chaplain Morison also serves as the California Wing Chaplain. He is a Resiliency Training Assistant (RTA) for the USAF Resiliency program. Chaplain Morison is one of two CAP Chaplains assigned to a First Air Force AFWERX project working in collaboration with eight Air Force Chaplains and the developers to provide a new virtual ministry tool for the Air Force and Civil Air Patrol Chaplain Corps.

Chaplain Morison grew up in Chicago, Illinois, joining the Glenview Naval Composite Squadron, Illinois Wing, in 1986 and served as the Aerospace Education Officer.  Chaplain Morison was awarded a Master of Aerospace Education Rating.  He served in the Huntsville Composite Squadron, Alabama Wing, as the Aerospace Education Officer from 1987-1989.  Chaplain Morison transferred to the NH Wing and served as the Wing Aerospace Education Officer from 1989-1992.  After a break in service, he rejoined the New Hampshire Wing of CAP in 2003 as a Chaplain serving as the Assistant Wing Chaplain from 2003-2007 and as Wing Chaplain from 2007-2008.  Chaplain Morison served under Military Service authorization to the NH National Guard for twenty-six months assisting in deploying troops, providing family support, designing, and delivering programs for families and rear-guard troops, assisting in demobilization and reintegration during Operation Iraqi Freedom II.  After doing doctoral coursework, Chaplain Morison transferred to California Wing in 2011 and has since served as the Squadron Chaplain for Redwood Empire Composite Squadron in Santa Rosa, CA.  From 2016-2017 he has served as the Deputy Chaplain North for the California Wing.  Chaplain Morison served on the Pacific Region Staff College as an instructor for Disaster Ministry and Psychological-Spiritual First Aid in 2013 and 2014 respectively.  In 2017 Morison served as the instructor for Psychological-Spiritual First Aid at the California Wing Education Conference.  And, in 2017 Chaplain Morison served on the instructional team for the first regional ChESS training in California.
